Operation Every Band

SXSW 2012 Spreadsheet 13:

Just as we were about to close out round two, SXSW drops another 500 or so bands on us.  Let the real work begin!  Here are today’s highlights:

Fallulah (7): Fallulah has a really enticing voice, using an understated delivery to create an air of mystery.  Think a Florence Welch with the knob turned down a couple notches.
Films of Colour (7): They don’t shy away from a big song, liberally employing elements of UK brethren Muse and Coldplay with a little more an electronic pop slant.

Ben Howard (5): Ben Howard, from Devon, UK, is like that guy you knew in high school who always slayed at the coffee shop open mic, but this guy’s got a million YouTube hits and an Island Records contract.
Lanie Lane (5): a singer-songwriter out of a 50s pop time machine with a gritty and soulful delivery.  She’s at her best when she’s rocking out a little bit like on the key track “Ain’t Hungry”.
