The O’s – “In Numbers We Survive”

I’m a little biased with The O’s since I’ve been exposed to them frequently in my local DFW music scene.   The folk duo has a distinctly pop sound, but it’s all achieved with folk-minded acoustic instrumentation.  There’s a familiarity here, drawing influence from the modern and traditional Americana scenes.  The O’s delve into alt country and blues sounds as well, always bringing a strong energy to whatever they try to tackle.  The only negative is the band tends to stay pretty squarely in their respective molds, but if it ain’t broke, then maybe that’s a good thing.  The O’s will be swinging through Austin in support of their second LP, Between the Two, released early last year.
