Caleb Elliott - “Get Me Out of Here”
SXSW 2022 - OEB Score: 7; Popularity Index: 2
Pairs Well With…Sturgill Simpson, Dylan LeBlanc, Lord Huron
Caleb Elliott looks to have a follow-up to his lush alt-country debut Forever to Fade on deck for 2022, imaginably using SXSW to preview those tracks amid the breezy, Laurel Canyon vibes ever-present in Elliott’s music. Forever to Fade is a comforting, well-rounded debut, aiding the Louisiana-based artist’s gentle songwriting with chamber folk strings and other curiosities. Caleb Elliott showcases Tuesday night with his record label Single Lock Records at Continental Club for what should be a moving, professional set from the detailed, folk-based performer. 2020 Review: Caleb Elliott takes what could be a gentle folk sound and turns it into a cinematic, soft soul atmosphere on 2019 debut full-length Forever to Fade, a sweet, alt country vibe throughout the consistent effort. Breezy acoustic rock is emboldened with an abundance of strings and lush production, giving off a fuller statement while staying in a tight pocket throughout. It’s a constantly pretty, stirring sound even recalling classic R&B forms at times, notably mature for a debut and a rich listen front to back.
