Argentinian band Isla De Caras play a consistent form of Latin chillwave soul on their sophomore record Una Caricia, a low-key gem of a record striking unique ground in the genre. Jazz-infused and mixing organic and electronic instrumentation, Isla De Caras are grounded first, letting the atmospheric angles in their music compliment rather than wash out the band’s ultra-smooth grooves. While many of their peers dip into hazy psychedelia as the backbone of their music, Isla De Caras’s sound is comparatively sunny, comfortable in their space and making their relatively complex melodies sound easy.
