Dublin’s Autre Monde has a sound that melds new wave pop, cinematic indie rock, and twists of funk/R&B grooves, a unique blend that ranges from trippy to catchy across their first five singles. The latest is their cleanest and most accessible track - “On the Record” balances post-punk and breezy pop with an expert touch and don’t sleep on the saxophone solo leading to the song’s coda. “Fever in May” touches on grunge pop and psychedelic rock forms while Autre Monde’s earlier singles lean into experimental garage rock, so there’s really no telling where this adventurous unit chooses to head next.
