Austin rapper Ben Buck brings old school and indie rap vibes to his 2020 record Kilroy, but then twists those influences with psychedelic, eclectic melodies and beats for something fresh and spirited for today. Jazz, jungle, and hip hop rhythms form the backbeats of Kilroy, giving a live-sample canvas for Buck to paint his make-it-sound-easy rhymes. Buck adds some impressive beat-boxing to his sophomore record as well, adding some organic percussion that naturally adds to pass-the-mic instincts of the tight and hungry presentation of Kilroy.
