Australian artist Eliott has a remarkable voice, one she unleashes in moments both soft and melodically grand in her ballad-heavy early catalog. Eliott moves between emotive piano songs and more electronic-leaning indie pop material, either way using space well to keep the focus on her rich vocal instrument. While her love songs can be sugary in regards to her songwriting at times, it’s actually a great spot for her heart-stirring tone. On the other end, recent single “Shaking My Hips” has Eliott hitting her stride musically and lyrically, a dreamy pop track built with in-tune confidence that mixes understated and bold in a measured way.
