KORDELYA performs a combination of traditional Latin pop/R&B, dance rhythms, and some psychedelic pop overlays on her two EPs and a trio of 2019 singles. Included in the latter is “Consentido”, a dreamy R&B track intermingling trap and Mexican influences. Her music is tightly produced and still creative even when connecting with a now mainstream sound, held back at the right times like on minimal synth-soul jam “Feo”. KORDELYA’s debut full-length Mal Hecha is due next month, just in time for a vibrant, yet chilled out, SXSW set. (Kevin McStravick)
