Sega Bodega - “Salv Goes To Hollywood”

SXSW 2020 - OEB Score: 7; Popularity Index: 5

Pairs Well With…blackbear, Kaytranada, KennyHoopla

Bending any genre expectations, Sega Bodega’s tripped out, electronic R&B base is expanded with industrial rock, new-wave synth pop, and avant garde electronic music on his expansive 2020 full-length Salvador. Released just this Valentine’s Day, Salvador is mysterious and internalized, experimental melodies intersecting with house-trap beats that bubble in and out of his down-tempo atmospherics. Sega Bodega’s far-out production is more lonely than busy even within his ambitious songwriting - if ripped to their core, Salavador’s tracks would have more in common with bedroom emo rock than any classic R&B influences.
