Tony Velour’s form of fiercely internalized, rapping around psychedelic beats that stem from both classic hip hop and thick-bass trap rhythms. He’s mostly understated in his delivery, whispering through latest single “Unfazed” under dimming industrial lights. The Atlanta-based rapper keeps a similar emotional tone through all of his debut record Vices Hurt, a reflective style that grounds his music and allows his beats and instrumentation to explore freely, including electro-pop, R&B, and even some indie rock elements on fully loaded tracks like “Pull Up” and “Do or Die”.
