Sacramento, California singer-songwriter Tre Burt performs with a distinctly Dylan-esque tone, specifically recalling his 60s folk material and accompanied by lonely acoustic guitar and harmonica instrumentation. Burt’s 2020 full-length debut Caught It from the Rye has a bit of garage crunch to it too, giving a little edge to such a traditional, Americana-based sound. Even though there’s reverential throwback appeal to Tre Burt’s music, it’s also notable that he’s a really strong songwriter in his own accord, capturing sweet love songs, political screeds, and sad solitude with poetic charm across the nine tracks of Caught It from the Rye.
