Lush Life is the debut album from The Belair Lip Bombs, a blast of jangly rock and roll and classic punk riffs. There’s a brightness to the Australian band’s music, guitar lines and vocals both playing around tight, hooky melodies. Their music isn’t sweet power pop however, rather The Belair Lip Bombs pull from surf rock and grunge influences and fit them against a tight, driving rhythm section. Combining that energetic push with both airy and punk-laden vocals yields a sound that is both new and classic rock and roll all at once. Ultimately, catchy riffs and an easy sound come together soundly here, while still being just messy enough to shake their pop/rock tree. (Kevin McStravick)
