The Silver Lines - “Bound”

SXSW 2024 - OEB Score: 8; Popularity Index: 3

Pairs Well With…The Killers, The Strokes, Blur

The Silver Lines continue a tradition of arena-rock numbers loaded with new-wave influences, crafting catchy rock songs with dense, grey intensity. The UK band has been releasing singles since debuting in 2018 with “Roamer” and shared their first EP collection SLEAZE in 2022, and it makes sense since every track does sound like a single. Tight, power-pop influenced songwriting gives The Silver Lines a sense of immediate familiarity - they aren’t trying to push indie rock in new directions, rather they’re focused on crafting songs that feel a special kind of Brit-rock timelessness. Great rock and roll doesn’t have to do anything else when it’s punching as consistently as The Silver Lines’ catalog, music that is both studied and raw, precise and grimy. (Kevin McStravick)
