Authentic and romantic, Kaitlin Butts keeps things to the core of an acoustic guitar and classic country vocals on her latest single “Tomorrow Will Be Kind”. Everything in Butts’ music is pretty and moving, the beauty emanating from her voice being front and center. There’s a slight Americana warble in her tone that is immediately capturing, riding around a melody and sliding up and down scales with ease. There are some Southern rock ramblers and deep Western tracks across her two prior full-lengths, powerfully performed and maintaining a traditionalist core. It has been a couple years since her last EP Sad Yeehaw Sessions, so expect SXSW to be an opportunity for new music that sounds like old music from this reliable artist. (Kevin McStravick)
