Little Quirks - “Someone to Hold”

Folk rock-pop from the Central Coast of Australia, Little Quirks have evolved their sound since their 2016 debut EP Where We Hide, adding soul, swing, and rock influences to their acoustic cores. 2020 single “Florence’s Town” is a great example, taking stomp-and-holler folk and adding catchy hooks in a chorus that bursts over the traditional pastures of the verse. “Someone to Hold” is their most recent single, one that adds an R&B swing to the band’s minimal balladry foundation. It’s one of the stronger tracks in the catalog of this family band (two sisters and two of their brother-sister cousins) and hopefully a sign that whatever follows up their three EPs as they come through SXSW this year.
