Living Hour - “Double Bus” (w/ Peel Dream Magazine)

SXSW 2022 - OEB Score: 7; Popularity Index: 3

Pairs Well With…Animal Collective, Beach House, Mitski

Dreamy psychedelic rock defines Living Hour’s 2019 record Softer Faces, a light sounding record that is still full of sound. Soft ambience turns to post-rock flourishes on the ebbing and flowing record, whispery vocals floating like surf-rock echoes with hypnotic appeal. Slowcore rock influences weigh down much of Living Hour’s music, the pace allowing space for off-kilter guitar lines and synth-like waves to provide the backdrop of the Canadian band’s sound. Their latest is single “Double Bus”, a collaboration with fellow psych pop artists Peel Dream Magazine and one of the band’s most experimental and entrancing songs, building like a softened chant before it fades out of existence.
