Luna Li deals mostly in lush dream pop, but approaches the genre with full ambition and fusion rock in mind across her introductory EPs and singles. Classic pop songwriting is filtered through jazz-infused, chillwave forms, sounds that are both relaxing and intricately moving. Soft vibes breeze through steady indie rock and bedroom R&B settings on the Canadian artist’s latest collection Flower (In Full Bloom) and new highlight single “Sleep Into Rain”, a light indie rock collaboration with beabadoobee. There’s strength in Luna Li’s quiet convictions and her early songs are notably full and interesting, music in which to get lost while avoiding just sleepy soundscapes.
