Miso Extra is a fusion pop artist, pulling from R&B, hip hop, dream pop, and any other genre she can get her hands on. Currently based out of London after living in Hong Kong and Japan, Western and Eastern melodies playfully intermingle on her two EPs and follow-up singles “2nd Floor” and a cover of Little Dragon’s “Constant Surprises”. Bilingual lyrics and woozy, fractured beats sound natural in Miso Extra’s space, weird but less intense than you’d expect from experimentally minded pop. There’s a chippy feel to these otherwise tripped out tracks too, softened slices of rhythm and melodies keeping her music bouncing along steadily. (Kevin McStravick)
