Peach Luffe - “Honeymoon"

SXSW 2024 - OEB Score: 7; Popularity Index: 6

Pairs Well With…Cuco, Tame Impala, Toro Y Moi

Dreamy chillwave rock with twists of R&B and classic pop, Peach Luffe’s latest EP Honey continues along the Canadian-via-South-Korean artist’s journey of relaxing, yet full songwriting. While their music feels like a beachside soundtrack, Peach Luffe’s music isn’t relaxing to the point of sleepiness, finding moments of relative intensity on a song like “Quite Like You” to balance the cozy air of “Honeymoon” and “Say It Back”. His base sound, however, is like a psychedelic hug in the way it envelops, still keeping a cool air around those sonic edges. (Kevin McStravick)

2023 Review: While Peach Luffe offers sweet harmonies and nostalgic pop influences, the Canadian artist keeps things weird enough to not be mistaken for a throwback revue. Part chillwave and part pastoral and cinematic, Peach Luffe has a mild vibe and is comfortable in its reverential tone. While the solo project was formed just in 2019, there’s a wealth of tracks already available, four EPs leading up to the release of last year’s spacious full-length Everything Is Peachy.
