Rose Hotel’s music is warm and cozy, leveraging country and indie rock forms for moving balladry and mid-tempo pop tunes. Pretty and spacious above all, Rose Hotel can be a little haunting as well throughout debut full-length I Will Only Come When It’s a Yes and early singles from her upcoming follow-up A Pawn Surrender. Aided by country instrumentation and orchestral swells, the Atlanta-based artist goes more for lovely, cinematic pastures than the lonely bedroom folk that is so prevalent in quieter artists. Western motifs accompany that wind-strewn sound, the right vibe for Rose Hotel’s classically minded songwriting. Rose Hotel showcases at Lamberts on Thursday alongside fellow Georgian artists for the group Athens in Austin. (Kevin McStravick)
