Delicate and detailed, Sam Tudor’s music starts as minimal indie folk, but expands with unique instrumentation, like literal bells and whistles, that embellish his sound. There even some jazz swing on his latest single “Do You Feel Free Now?”, one of the strongest tracks in the Canadian artist’s catalog by being just experimental enough to crack that Americana foundation. It’s a follow up to Tudor’s last record, 2021’s Two Half Words, an album that keeps that same cinematic folk-pop tone in an environment that combines raw songwriting and spacey, psych-rock spirits. Two Half Words was Tudor’s third record and there is real development album by album, and hopefully this latest standout single means LP number four is on the way shortly. (Kevin McStravick)
