Stereo Jane - “All My Friends”
SXSW 2022 - OEB Score: 7; Popularity Index: 9
Pairs Well With…The Regrettes, Hop Along, Mannequin Pussy
Alt-rock, pop-punk, and indie rock all merge in Stereo Jane’s catchy earworms, strongly constructed pop tunes tightly linked to their 90s influences. The LA-based sibling duo also deals in anthemic dream pop like on “I don’t wanna talk about me” and key track “Amen” - while Stereo Jane have been releasing singles since 2013, they’ve seemed to have really found their sound the past few years. Most recent singles “Time Of My Life” and “All My Friends” are memorable in their tight, pop-oriented sound and Stereo Jane aren’t shy to go big in their choruses when at their best. They are more genre-hoppers than fusion artists, really leaning into whatever vibe they are reaching track to track in a way that should make for an exciting, well-rounded SXSW set this year.
