An interesting thing about reviewing new artists months ahead of time, sometimes there’s a name on the roster that has no music released. Anna Fox falls in that category for SXSW 2020 (writing as of mid-December), but there are some predictions given her main gig fronting dreamy indie rock band Quilt. If her solo gig draws a similar sound at all, expect a decent dose of psychedelic pop, chillwave atmospherics, and hooky melodies to inform what’s next for Anna Fox. Quilt produces some really interesting elements and phrases across their three records (the most recent is 2016’s Plaza), so keep Fox on your radar even if it’s a total surprise. (Kevin McStravick)
