Bobby Oroza anchors his music in classic soul/R&B forms, but adds a contemporary chillwave atmosphere that twists expectations without losing a firm grip. Most of his tracks live a cool, mid-tempo space save for some classic swingers like “Your Love Is Too Cold”, taking their time to form psychedelic pop growths around Oroza’s soulful, romantically playful vocal tone. The Finnish performer will be hitting SXSW in support of his debut full-length This Love, a well-rounded effort that should make for a nostalgically forward live set. (Kevin McStravick)
