Jeremie Albino – “Last Night”

SXSW 2020 - OEB Score: 8; Popularity Index: 5

Pairs Well With… Son House, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Ray Charles

Troubadour is the first word that comes to mind to describe Jeremie Albino’s throwback folky blues rock.  His voice commands attention whether it’s the foot stomping “Last Night” and “Hard Time” or some of the prettier, more contemplative songs like “The Cabin.”  Albino has certainly walked a unique path, having spent ten years working on Canadian farms after leaving Toronto.  But while the farm life he lived may have been quiet, his songs are full of energy and raw emotion and the more rousing numbers should induce foot-tapping, hips-swaying.  Albino has talent and the pipes to assure a memorable live set.
