NYC dream pop band MICHELLE play a comfortable style of chillwave R&B, smooth crafting synth pop jams that lightly float with hooky resonance. Their debut full-length HEATWAVE was released in 2018 and it’s a cool, relatively minimal record of breezy pop-rock numbers, embracing a psychedelic haze but rarely sounding too tripped out. Interestingly, MICHELLE is a duo at its core, but they employ a half-dozen vocalists live and in studio to accentuate the band’s low-key harmonies and diversity of voices for a more well-rounded effort than just a series of minimal works.
