Night Moves - “Carl Sagan”

Cosmic country, stoned country, country music in space - sometimes labeling an artist is a futile exercise. Night Moves may receive 70’s folk-rock comparisons, but they’re infusing it with their unique take of Americana. Take the group's single "Carl Sagan," which mixes arena-ready vocals, booming drum sounds Steely Dan would approve of, and ethereal-like synthesizers. The band takes a more deliberate approach to their songwriting, spending summers in the studio, crafting deliberate and poignant guitar sections, and inserting Nashville twang when needed. You may hear a raspy voice over reverb, but this ain’t your father’s foot-stompin rock and roll. (Drew Doggett)
