Quiet Company - “The Warning”

SXSW 2020 - OEB Score: 8; Popularity Index: 8

Pairs Well With…Spoon, Weezer, Frightened Rabbit

SXSW regulars Quiet Company recently released energetic slice of power pop “The Warning” to follow up their equally well-rounded and catchy EP On Corners & Shapes last year. The tight Austin rock band has been honing this lane for well over a decade now, always leaning into the heart of their music surrounded by bright power chord and expressive songwriting. They’ve gotten really good at capturing their live sound on record too, excitedly building anticipation for another swing through their local haunts next month. (Kevin McStravick)

2019 Review: Just about every year over the past decade has featured a SXSW set from Quiet Company and 2019 will be no different. The exciting indie/alt rock artists will be supporting a new EP - On Corners & Shapes is previewed by the yearning, bouncy rock track “Aloha”, a song that marries tension and lush orchestration in a unique and adventurous way.

2015 Review: Quiet Company has evolved into one of the tighter power pop/rock bands in the land these recent years, a sound the band looks to be exploring even further with their upcoming fourth full-length Transgressor.  The hints come in lead track “Seven Hells”, a full, classic rock and roll song, one that builds with 90s energy while clearly showing off the band’s instinctive songwriting chops.  This could be an interesting one - Quiet Company has built a solid reputation album by album and continues to improve.
