More a communal experience than a traditional concert, Pub Choir doesn’t have an audience, rather everyone is invited to perform alongside a conductor and traditional instrumentation. Learning a cover song and directing alongside some lyric/melody multimedia, the audience performs in multi-part harmony and the results are often quite beautiful. The thing that’s most noticeable in their video library are all the smiling faces, beaming pure joy to be part of something bigger than themselves for just a few minutes. Even better they landed on a fascinatingly diverse showcase for SXSW alongside KennyHoopla, Kokoroko, and Shady Nasty Friday night at Lucille. (Kevin McStravick)
