Rosehip Teahouse - “Growth"

SXSW 2020 - OEB Score: 7; Popularity Index: 1

Pairs Well With…Snail Mail, Frankie Cosmos, beabadoobee

Welsh newcomers Rosehip Teahouse have already established a nice mix of a warm and raw on their pair of debut singles “Same Sky” and “Growth”. Back-to-basics indie rock but performed in a dreamily sunny air, Rosehip Teahouse’s music is also emotive and gripping, shown best on the lush, building “Growth”. Their music is consistently comfortable and welcoming, but also complex and ambitious. By starting in a place of solitude and concluding awash in sound, Rosehip Teahouse display dynamic movement within a normally contemplative, restful bedroom rock genre - it’ll be interesting to how subtly far-reaching the rest of their early catalog continues to go next.
