The Texas Gentlemen - “Habbie Doobie”

SXSW 2020 - OEB Score: 7; Popularity Index: 5

Pairs Well With…The Band, Booker T & The MGs, Tedeschi Trucks Band

Southern rock ramblers and classic R&B/funk enthusiasts The Texas Gentlemen spent their 2019 touring heavily, especially across the Red-Dirt circuit, mixing in originals from 2017’s TX Jelly and a generous helping of classic rock covers. Notably authentic and dripping with tight musicianship, The Texas Gentlemen have grown to be one of the stronger live acts in their blues, country, and soul blended genres and hopefully have a sophomore release eyed up for sometime in 2020. 2019 Review: The Texas Gentlemen are classic rock revivalists, uprooting 60s/70s soul, blues and R&B licks into timeless and tight jams. A slick, grooving live outfit, The Texas Gentlemen offer a mix of covers and grooving originals featuring top-notch musicianship and band interplay. The Dallas-based outfit brings some red-dirt country licks in their sound as well, a great chance to catch some Texas heat from the stage and the sun at SXSW 2019.
