NYC rock and roll, grimy riffs underlined by power-pop songwriting, sounds instantly comfortable in Telescreens’ hands. There’s arena-rock layers to Telescreens’ music, generally at a ten both percussively and driving forward without a stopped breath. The band’s sophomore record Stare Wide came out in 2023 concentrated with songs that could be lead singles given their tight, hooky consistency. Add rambunctious energy on a beer-soaked floor and Telescreens’ sound comes to life both live and on record. Telescreens pulled a great stage slot at Mohawk Monday night for Give A Note Foundation and Artist For Artist, showcasing right before Do Nothing’s closing set on the outdoor stage. (Kevin McStravick)
