Smooth chillwave-R&B and dream-pop groovers ADOY head to SXSW from South Korea and their West/East blend of influences is symbolic of that distanced flight. Singing in English, ADOY share twee charm on their 2019 full-length Vivid and 2021 EP her, a relaxing air that is aided by cinematic sound waves with patient appeal. Melodies plink and plunk like raindrops within ADOY’s hazy songs, summery reflections played with comforting ease. They keep the place slow and plaintive, allowing the groove of their music sway like ripples of musical waves.
