Beauty Sleep - “Go”

Beauty Sleep is where hazy dream pop meets power pop, a band that is able to hide their hooks under dense waves of synths and electronic beats in sweet balance. The Irish duo recently followed up their 2019 debut Be Kind with one-off single “Go”, amongst their fullest and brightest tracks and one that bleeds joy start to finish. That playful quality excels the Irish duo’s songwriting and sounds more committed than the lushness that embodies Be Kind. Their new-wave kinship gave some of Be Kind a feeling on ennui, but with that faded away, it feels like Beauty Sleep is becoming more comfortable in their own skin. All of this is a strong sign to pay attention to whatever is next for Beauty Sleep as they head through Austin in March. (Kevin McStravick)
