Lemonade Shoelace - “Autopilot Paradise”

SXSW 2023 - OEB Score: 8; Popularity Index: 2

Pairs Well With…Tame Impala, Temples, Unknown Mortal Orchestra

One song into Lemonade Shoelace’s career and he’s already an artist to keep an eye on, sharing “Autopilot Paradise” in 2021 and joining the contemporary psych-rock moment with an earworm track that is as catchy as it is tripped into deep space. By combining a hooky chorus with jammy excursions, Lemonade Shoelace exude the ability to envelop without falling into the trap of noodling boredom. It’s such a strong single that it’s begging for more, so SXSW should prove a timely vehicle for the Northern Irish band to share what what other corners of psych-rock Lemonade Shoelace is ready to explore. Lemonade Shoelace has shared that there are a couple of complete EPs ready for release right now, so expect more very shortly to broaden what is already an invigorating sound from this Newcastle upstart.
