Indie pop with warmth at the forefront, néomí’s music is often quiet and expressive while not fully committed to bedroom pop loneliness. Instead, néomí’s songs are subtly dynamic, harmonic in voice and music. The Dutch artist moves from sparse balladry to new-wave pop on her latest single “somebody’s daughter”, maintaining a natural comfortability but adding some fun bounce to turn the mood. She’s released two EPs so far, the aptly named before and after, and perusing her early catalog shows an artist finding her sound with strong bones already in tact. (Kevin McStravick)
