HÅN - “Gymnasion”

SXSW 2020 - OEB Score: 7; Popularity Index: 3

Pairs Well With…Portishead, BIRTHH, Sevdaliza

Haunting electronic pop, spaciously delivered with patience and beauty, HÅN takes a minimal approach to her music and yields a freshly hypnotic, trip-hop sound. The Italian artist has released two singles from an expected 2020 sophomore EP and they cover both sides of HÅN’s scale, from the relatively grand pulse of “Gymnasion” to “It’s Better When I Sleep”, a dreamy space-pop ballad with true emotional depth featuring HÅN’s rich, natural vocal tone. While vulnerable in her songwriting, HÅN’s musical inclinations are confidently drawn and experimental even within a narrow, soft-pop form, a nice, close-listen sound. (Kevin McStravick)
