The Murder Capital - “More Is Less”

SXSW 2020 - OEB Score: 7; Popularity Index: 6

Pairs Well With…Savages, Idles, Fontaines D.C.

Dense post punk and jangly garage rock blend in The Murder Capital’s tense, percussive sound, rumbling with intensity and purpose. There’s classic UK punk informing songs like hardcore-leaning “More Is Less” and storming “Feeling Fades”, both in the engine-like power chords and speak-sing vocals that are more conversational than preachy. The Irish newcomers just released their hungry, raging debut When I Have Fears last summer and it’s clear how much is going into their songs, tightly performed and sounding fully live and ready from the jump.
