The Sherlocks - “NYC (Sing It Loud)”
SXSW 2020 - OEB Score: 8; Popularity Index: 7
Pairs Well With…Catfish and the Bottlemen, Manchester Orchestra, The Killers
Unsurprisingly The Sherlocks sound like they were birthed on a festival main stage throughout their sophomore record Under Your Sky, a shiny and energetic collection of sing-a-long, fist-pumping anthems. There’s hope and confidence in The Sherlocks’ music, mixing classic, new wave, and modern rock songwriting into a jangly, highly melodic sound. Sometimes you need a huge chorus or two in your life, so The Sherlocks are perfect to fit that bill with headliner appeal. (Kevin McStravick)
2016 Review: Emerging UK rock band The Sherlocks have an arena-ready, alt rock sound coming right out of the gate. Hosting a set of singles since 2014 debut “Live for the Moment”, The Sherlocks have established themselves as hook-heavy, melodic indie rock song crafters. “Live for the Moment” remains the band’s best overall track, washing melody into melody and always driving forward at a don’t-look-back pace. Everything is in its right place, equipped for mainstream success three minutes into the band’s released career. The band’s latest is “Heart of Gold”, an anthemic number built on classic songwriting patterns and performed with guitar riffing intensity.
